Movie vs. Book
Surprisingly, the movie was very good and followed the book down to specific dialogue. It was well made to go along with, and maintain the original story of, the book. However, there were three slight things I noticed to be different in the movie then in the book. First, in the book, Robert Langdon is awoken from his his hotel room to come to the murder scene at the Louvre. In the movie, he is merely interrupted at a book signing at his conference on symbology. Second, in the book, Robert Langdon agrees entirely with Leigh Teabing on his views and theories regarding the Priory of Sion, the Roman Catholic Church and the Holy Grail. In the movie, Langdon has a bit more moderate views of the whole conspiracy and is more skeptical of the Priory of Sion in the movie than in the book. Third, in the book there are two cryptexs, one inside the other, and the passwords are SOPHIE and APPLE. However, in the movie there is only one cryptex and the password is APPLE. Even though there were these three slight variations and some other minuscule differences, the overall story was not affected by them. After reading the book and watching the movie, I am very pleased with the story as a whole and think that the motion picture was an accurate representation of the novel.
